African Flower Rainbow Blanket
This blanket is a great way to use up scrap yarn. It is made with 56 African flower granny squares, joining together with a zig zag slst, then adding a moss stitch edging.
Each square measure approx 5.5”
I made 56 squares with a layout of 7 x 8. If you want it smaller you can make less squares or larger make more squares.
The finished blanket including the edging measures 47” x 43”
Materials
Dk / weight 3 yarn in various colours I used lots of scraps for the flowers. I used Womens Institute (250 metres per 100g) from Hobbycraft 1 ball of cream for round 5 of each square (the outline of the flower) 3 balls of Navy for the main colour and joining.
I used approx 40 metres each of 9 different colours for the edging that I made in moss stitch.
