Alpine Blanket

Materials 

1250 meters of dk, weight 3 yarn in total (I used Emu Classic 100g balls)

4mm hook I use this set from Amazon*

Written in US terms with abbreviations for UK

dc=double crochet (treble crochet UK)

fpdc=front post double crochet (front post treble crochet UK)

bpdc=back post double crochet (back post treble crochet UK)

ch-chain

slst=slip stitch

Corner  = 2 dc, ch2, 2 dc

*Ch3 counts as dc*

Blanket

Round 1: ch4, slst to first to form a loop, ch3, dc 2, ch2, dc 3, ch2, dc 3, ch2, dc 3, ch2 into the loop, slst to the 3rd ch. (12) 

Round 2: ch1, slst into corner, ch3, dc 1, ch2, 2 dc, dc, fpdc, dc, corner, dc, fpdc ,dc, corner, dc, fpdc, dc, corner, dc, fpc, dc, dc 2 in corner, ch2, slst to the 3rd ch. (28)

Round 3: ch1, slst into corner, ch3, dc in the same, ch2, 2 dc, (fpdc, *dc, fpdc* x 3, corner) repeat twice more, fpdc, *dc, fpdc* x 3, slst to the 3rd ch. (44) 

Round 4: ch1, slst into corner, ch3, dc in the same, ch2, 2 dc, (dc, *fpdc, dc* x 5 corner ) repeat twice more, dc, *fpdc, dc* x 5, slst to the 3rd ch. (60) 

Round 5: ch1, slst into corner, ch3, dc in the same, ch2, 2 dc, (fpdc, *dc, fpdc* x 7, corner) repeat twice more, fpdc, *dc, fpdc* x 7, slst to the 3rd ch. (76) 

Round 6: ch1, slst into corner, ch3, dc in the same, ch2, 2 dc, (dc, *fpdc, dc* x 9, corner) repeat twice more, dc, *fpdc, dc* x 9, slst to the 3rd ch. (92)

Repeat rows 5 and 6 until the blanket is the size you want (on each round, each side of the square will go up by 4 stitches (16 total)) I made mine to 27 inches then did the border.

Border

Round 1: ch1, slst into corner, ch3, dc in the same, ch2, 2 dc, *dc in each stitch to corner, corner* repeat x 2, dc to end, slst to the 3rd ch.

Round 2: ch1, slst into corner, ch3, dc in the same, ch2, 2 dc, (fpdc, *bpdc, fpdc* repeat to corner, corner) repeat twice more, fpdc, bpdc to end, slst to the 3rd ch. 

Repeat round 2 twice more.

When finished my blanket measured 30 x 30 inches.
