Written in English US terms with abbreviations for UK terms

sc=single crochet (double crochet in UK)

dc=double crochet (treble crochet UK)
bs=Bobble stitch- (yarn over, insert hook into next stitch, pull up a loop, yarn over pull through 2 stitches), four times, you should have 5 stitches on hook yarn over and pull through all 5.

ch=chain

inc=increase 

dec=decrease

slst=slip stitch

Rnd1: dc in the 4th ch from hook and each ch to end. (239)

Rnd2: ch1, sc in same, sc 1, bs, sc 2 repeat to end. (239)

Rnd3-5: ch1, dc in same, dc to end. ( 239)

Rnd6: ch1, sc in same, sc 1, bs, sc 2 repeat to end. (239)

Rnd7-9: ch1, dc in same, dc to end. ( 239)

Rnd10: ch1, sc in same, sc 1, bs, sc 2 repeat to end. (239)

Rnd11-13: ch1, dc in same, dc to end. ( 239)

Rnd14: ch1, sc in same, sc 1, bs, sc 2 repeat to end. (239)

Rnd15: ch1, dc in same, dc to end. ( 239)

Fasten off and sew in the ends.

I edged the ends of the scarf with a picot edging, but you could add tassels if you like or leave plain.

Hat

Hat to fit 22” head, 10“ tall when finished

Rnd1: ch4, slst to first to form a circle, ch3, dc 11 into circle, slst to top of ch2. (12) Turn

Rnd2: ch3, dc in same, 2 dc in all, slst to first. (24) Turn

Rnd3: ch3, hdc in same, dc 1, *inc, dc 1* repeat to end, slst to first. (36) Turn

Rnd4: ch1, sc in same, sc 1, bs, *sc 2, bs* repeat to end. (36) Turn

Rnd5: ch3, hdc in same, dc 2, *inc, dc 2* repeat to end, slst to first. (48) Turn

Rnd6: ch3, hdc in same, dc 3, *inc, dc 3* repeat to end, slst to first. (60) Turn

Rnd7: ch3, hdc in same, dc 4, *inc, dc 4* repeat to end, slst to first. (72) Turn

Rnd8: ch1, sc in same, sc 1, bs, *sc 2, bs* repeat to end. (72) Turn

Ribbed edging

Row1: sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each ch back to edge of hat, join to the next st of the edge of hat using a slst then work one more slst into the next st (2 slsts in total for joining)  (7) Turn
Row2: ch1, sc all in blo. (7) Turn

Row3: (in blo) ch1, sc all back to edge of hat, join to the next st of the edge of hat using a slst then work one more slst into the next st (2 slsts in total for joining) (7) Turn

Repeat Rows 2-3 until you have worked all around the hat.

Fasten off and sew up the seam.

Add a pompom if you like.
