Bumble the Bee
This Bee is crochet in one piece and the only sewing needed is the antenna’s, cheeks, eyes and wings.
Written in English US terms with abbreviations for UK
sc = single crochet (double crochet in UK)
ch = chain
mc = magic circle
dec = decrease sc (sc 2 stitches together) (double crochet 2 stitches together UK)
inc = increase (2 sc in next stitch) (2 dc in next stitch UK)
Materials
Weight 5 chunky chenille yarn (50 metres) (I used Aldi baby yarn 95 metres per 100g ball) in yellow and black and a 6mm hook I use this set from Amazon*
I used
12mm safety eyes or crochet the eyes, using dk weight 3 yarn and a 3mm hook
Polyester toy filling
Needle
The Bee will measure 12 inches including antennas. However the size will depend on yarn and hook size used.
The bee can also be made smaller in dk / weight 3 yarn and to make the eyes smaller use 4ply yarn (The one I made in weight 3 turned out 6.5 inches tall).
All parts are made going around in a spiral. I used the yarn under method to get a nice tight stitch, so if crocheting the normal way they may turn out a little bigger.
