Cactus Rainbow Wall Hanging
This wall hanging is made by making two rainbows then doing the last round going through both to join them together.
Materials
Scraps of dk, weight 3 yarn
4mm hook I use this set from Amazon*
Written in US terms with abbreviations for UK
sc=single crochet (double crochet UK)
dc=double crochet (treble crochet UK)
tc=triple crochet (double treble crochet UK)
ch-chain
slst=slip stitch
Make two
Ch20 starting with lilac
Row 1: Sc in the second ch from hook and each chain to end. (19) Turn
Row 2: Ch1, sc in base of ch1, tc, sc* x 8, tc and sc in next five to turn, *tc, sc* x 8. (41)
Change to purple
Row 3: Ch1, hdc in the same, hdc 15, 2 hdc in the next three, hdc 3, 2 hdc in the next three, hdc 16. (47)
Row 4: Ch1, sc in base of ch1, *tc, sc* repeat to end. (47)
Change to blue
Row 5: Ch1, hdc in the same, hdc 17, 2 hdc in the next four, hdc 3, 2 hdc in the next four, hdc 18. (55)
Row 6: Ch1, sc in base of ch1, *tc, sc* repeat to end. (55)
Change to green
Row 7: Ch1, hdc in the same, hdc 19, 2 hdc in the next four, hdc 5, 2 hdc in the next four, hdc 20. (63)
Row 8: Ch1, sc in base of ch1, *tc, sc* repeat to end. (63)
Change to yellow
Row 9: Ch1, hdc in the same, hdc 22, 2 hdc in the next five, hdc 7, 2 hdc in the next five, hdc 23. (73)
Round 10: Ch1, sc in base of ch1, *tc, sc* repeat to end. (73)
Change to orange
Row 11: Ch1, hdc in the same, hdc 26, 2 hdc in the next five, hdc 9, 2 hdc in the next five, hdc 27. (83)
Row 12: Ch1, sc in base of ch1, *tc, sc* repeat to end. (83)
Change to red
Row 13: Ch1, hdc in the same, hdc 30, 2 hdc in the next five, hdc 11, 2 hdc in the next five, hdc 31. (93)
After you have made them both up to row 13, do the last row through the stitches of both pieces to join together.
Row 14: Ch1, sc in base of ch1, *tc, sc* repeat to end, then sc across the bottom. (83)
Tassels
Cut 6, 17 inch strands of yarn in each colour.
Fold three strands of yarn in half and pull the center part way through the sc stitch at the end of each row, so its about an inch through forming a loop, then pull the tail ends of yarn through the loop and tighten.
Repeat this twice for each colour.
