Materials for bonnet / hat and boots

Around 100 meters of chunky or two strands of dk weight 3 yarn and a 6mm hook

Written in English US terms with abbreviations for UK

sc=single crochet (double crochet in UK)

hdc=half double crochet (half treble crochet UK)

dc=double crochet (treble crochet UK)

ch=chain

inc=increase 

dec=decrease

slst=slip stitch

Gauge Square

With 6mm hook

Row 1: Ch8, dc in 3rd ch from hook and each chain across. (6) Turn

Row 2-3: ch1, dc in base of ch1, dc 5. (6) Turn

Square should measure 2 x 2”.

Bonnet Measurement: when folded flat

4.5” by 5” excluding ties

Bonnet

Row 1: dc 16 into a magic circle, slst to first. (16) 

Row 2: ch3, dc in the same, 2 dc in each stitch, slst to first. (32) 

Row 3: ch1, dc in same and next 29, leaving the last 2 unworked. (30) Turn

Row 4-7: ch1, dc in the same, dc 29. (30) Turn

After row 7 is worked, sc around the bottom of the bonnet, around the neck line to the other side and fasten off for the bear bonnet. 

For the frilly bonnet continue to work around the front as follows, *sc, ch1, sc* in the front loop of each stitch until you reach the other side of the front. 

Fasten off. 

Cut 5 20 inch strands of yarn for each tie and pull through at each side of the front of the bonnet and plait. 

Bear Ears

Row 1: 6 sc into a  magic circle. (6)

Row 2: 2 sc in each stitch. (12)

Row 3: sc all. (12)

Fasten off.

Beanie

Row 1: dc 16 into a magic circle, slst to first. (16) 

Row 2: ch3, dc in the same, 2 dc in each stitch, slst to first. (32) 

Row 3: ch1, dc in the same and next 29, slst to first. (32) 

Row 4-6: ch1, dc in the same, dc all. (32) 

Row 7: ch1, sc in the same, sc all. (32)

Fasten off.

Boots

Round 1: ch6, 3 sc in second chain from hook, 1 sc in the next three, 6 sc in last chain then working along other side, 1 sc in each of the next three, 3 sc in the last, slst to first. (18)

Round 2: ch1, 1 sc in the same stitch as ch1, 2 sc in next, 1 sc in next four, 2 sc in each of the next six, 1 sc in next four, 2 sc in each of the next two, slst to first. (27) 

Sole should measure 7cm

Round 3: ch1, sc in same and next 26, all in back post, slst to first. (27)

Round 4: ch1, sc in same and next 26, slst to first. (27) 

Round 5: ch1, sc in same and next 6, *dec* 6 times, sc 8, slst to first. (21)

Round 6: ch1, sc in same and next 3, *dec* 6 times, sc 5, slst to first. (15)

Round 7-9: ch1, sc in same, sc all, slst to first. (15)

Fasten off and sew in the ends.
