Bobo and Blossom the Clown Kids Amigurumi
These super cute clown kids are crocheted all in one piece, the legs and arms are crocheted on, then continue to do the neck then head. The only pieces to sew on are the hair and trimmings. The ad free pattern can be purchased here
Written in English US terms with abbreviations for UK
sc= single crochet (double crochet UK)
hdc= half double crochet (half treble crochet UK)
dc= double crochet (treble crochet UK)
tc= treble crochet (double treble UK)
dec= invisible decrease (sc 2 stitches together using invisible decrease) (double crochet 2 stitches together UK)
inc= increase (2 sc in next stitch) (2 dc in next stitch UK)
Blo= back loops only
Flo= front loops only
mc= magic circle
bs= Bobble stitch- (yarn over pull up a loop yarn over pull through 2 stitches), five times, you should have 6 stitches on hook yarn over and pull through all 6.
Materials
Around 40g of skin colour dk yarn
60g of contrasting colours
2.5mm hook.
A 1.5mm hook and small amount of black and white embroidery thread or 4ply yarn for the eyes or you can use 10mm safety eyes
Polyester toy filling
Needle
All parts are made going around in a spiral apart from feet, boots and trimmings.
Clown will measure approx 14 inches tall, however size will depend on yarn and hook size used.
Arms
Make two starting with skin colour.
Stuff as you go.
Round 1: 5 sc in a magic circle. (5)
Round 2: *inc* x 5. (10)
Round 3: *sc 1, inc* x 5. (15)
Rounds 4-6: sc all. (15)
Start stuffing and continue throughout.
Change to shirt colour.
If doing stripes, I did 3 rounds of colour then 3 rounds of white.
Round 7: *sc 1, dec* x 5. (10)
Rounds 8-24: sc all. (10)
Fasten off and stuff.
Neck support
Make with the shirt colour.
Stuff as you go.
Round 1: 6 sc in a magic circle. (6)
Round 2: *inc* x 6. (12)
Round 3: *sc 1, inc* x 6. (18)
Round 4-20: sc all. (18)
Stuff firmly and fold the top in half and sc across 9 stitches, fasten off leaving a long end to sew inside the neck.
Eyes
Using 1.5 hook and embroidery thread or 4ply yarn
Starting with black
Round 1: 6 sc in a magic circle, slst to first. (6)
Round 2: ch1, 2 sc in the same, 2 sc in each of the next 2, join blue and 2 sc in each of the next 3, slst to first. (12)
Round 3: join white at the other side at the beginning of the blue, ch1, sc across the blue part and slst into the first black and fasten off.
Nose
With red
Round 1: Ch2, bs in second chain from hook.
Fasten off.
Boots
Make two using boot colour.
Round 1: ch8, 3 hdc in third chain from hook, hdc 4, 8 dc in last chain, then working along the other side, hdc 4, 3 hdc in the last, slst to first. (22)
Round 2: ch1, 1 hdc in the same stitch as ch1, 2 hdc in next 2, hdc 5, 2 dc in each of the next 8, hdc 5, 2 hdc in each of the last 2, slst to first. (34)
Round 3: (in blo) ch1, sc in same and next 33, slst to first. (34)
Rounds 4-6: ch1, sc in same and next 33, slst to first. (34)
Round 7: ch1, sc in same and next 8, *dec* x 8, sc 9 slst to first. (26)
Round 8: ch1, sc in same and next 5, *dec* x 7, sc 6. (19)
Start stuffing and continue throughout.
Round 9: ch1, sc in same and next 8, dec, sc 8. (18)
Rounds 10-12: sc all. (18)
Turn so the wrong side facing for the next two rounds.

Round 14: hdc all, slst to first and fasten off.
Now working in continuous rounds continue to the legs
Legs
Roll the last two rounds down this will be the boot cuff.
Using skin colour, join yarn in blo from rnd13 of boot.

Fasten off the first leg and continue with the second to start the body.
Body
Round 1: ch2, join to the next leg by sc around 14 of the other leg, sc in both chains, sc 14 around the next leg and both chains. (32)

Sew the eyes or fasten the safety eyes between round 11 and 12 with 5 stitches between the eyes.
Sew a small black triangle under each eye.
Sew the nose in place and sew a mouth.
Insert the neck support so it's half way down the neck and sew in place around the neck line.
Stuff and continue throughout.

Round 3: Ch1, sc in same and next 47, slst to first. (48)
Round 4: Ch1, dc in same and next 47, slst to first. (48)

Dividing for legs
Round 7: Ch1, sc in same and next 23, slst to first. Leaving the rest un-worked. (24)

Fasten off.
Join yarn and repeat round 7-9 for the second leg. Sew up the small hole between the legs and make straps below.
Hair for Blossom
Cut lots of 20 inch strands of yarn.
Fold a strand of yarn in half and pull the centre part way through a stitch so its about an inch through forming a loop, then pull the tail ends of yarn through the loop and tighten.
Do this all around the hairline.
Do a few long stitches from the centre top to bottom of the head to divide in two, add hair along each side of this and divide the hair into pigtails, tie up with elastic bands or yarn.
Sew some eyebrows and eyelashes with black embroidery thread.
Flowers for Blossom
Make six
Round 1: starting with yellow, 8 sc in a magic circle, slst to first. (8)
Join pink, *ch4, sc in second ch from hook, sc in next 2, slst to next* and repeat 7 more times.
Fasten off.
Sew one on the outside of each boot, one on each hair tie and one on each skirt strap.
Skirt for Blossom
Ch42, slst to first.
Round 1: Ch1, sc in same and next 41. (42)
Round 2: Ch1, dc in same and next 5, inc, *dc 6, inc* x 5, slst to first. (48)
Round 3: Ch1, sc in same and next 47, slst to first. (48)

Make two using the same colour.

Fasten off and sew a button for the boy or flower for the girl, on each one before sewing over the shoulders and cross at the back.
Hair ties for Blossom
Ch16, sc in second ch from hook sc 15, fasten off, sew a flower in the middle of each one and sew around the pig tails.
