This hearts bobble blanket is made using hdc and bobble stitch, with a border of cluster stitch around each square before joining together. Then another row of cluster stitch around the whole blanket to finish.
Pattern is written in English US terms with abbreviations for UK
ch=chain
slst=slip stitch
sc=dc UK
hdc=half treble crochet UK
bs=Bobble stitch- yarn over pull up a loop yarn over pull through 2 stitches x4 you should have 5 stitches on hook yarn over and pull through all 5.
Cl=Cluster stitch, yo, insert hook in st, yo, pull through st, yo, pull through 2 loops on hook, (yo, insert hook in same st, yo, pull through st, yo, pull through 2 loops on hook) 2 times, yo, pull through all 4 loops on hook, ch 1 to finish the cluster.
To create a blanket with 12 squares which will be approx 27 x 36 inches you will need:
400g of Paintbox yarns dk LoveCrafts 1 x Stormy grey, 1 x Slate grey, 2 x paper white
I found that a 100g ball made 4 squares, with some left over.
I used a 4mm hook for the squares but if your crocheting is tight you might want to use a 4.5mm or if loose a 3.5mm. I use this set from Amazon*
I used a 4.5mm hook for slst the squares together and the edging.
Each square will measure approximately 8.75 inches long and 8.5 inches wide with the cluster border.
*At the end of every row you need to ch1 and at the start of every row, your first hdc will be in the base of ch1*

Cluster border
At the top right corner, join white or cream yarn.
Rnd1
Ch1, sc in same, sk1, *ch1, sc* repeat across the top, in the corner, sc, ch2, sc in same to turn.
Then turn to go down the side, doing *ch1, sk1, sc* in each row down to the bottom, sc in last stitch and ch2, sc, in the same stitch at bottom to turn.
(Do 1 sc in the center of each row of hdc)
*ch1, sk1, sc* along the bottom in the next bottom corner, sc in the last stitch, ch2, sc in the same stitch to turn and along the last side, ch1, sk1, sc in each row, ch2, slst into first sc.
(19 ch1 spaces along each side, 14 ch1 spaces along top and bottom and a ch2 space at each corner).
Rnd2
Ch1, cluster stitch in each ch1 space and at each corner, where the ch2 is, do a (cluster ch2 and cluster) to turn. At the end slst to the top of the first cluster.
(14 clusters at the top, 14 at the bottom, 19 clusters up each side and 2 clusters in each corner).
When you have the squares made they can be joined using the slst from the back, in the back loops method.
Place the two squares you are joining then fold so the bottom one is on top.
Join yarn and ch1 in the center cluster in the back loop of the bottom and back loop of the top stitch.
Slst loosely across to the center of the next corner, in the back loops only, not the whole stitch (the back loops are the ones that are nearest the wrong side of the square).
Repeat this until you have four squares joined together. Then join another two more rows of four.
Edging
Using 4.5mm hook
Row1
Join yarn between the middle and next cluster, ch2, sc in between the next cluster, (ch1, sc in between the next cluster) repeat all around the blanket, at the joins sc in between the middle and last ch1 and sc in between the middle and last from next square, slst to first ch2.
Row2
Ch1, cluster in the ch2 space, cluster in each ch1 space, doing two clusters in each corner, slst to top of first cluster.
