Preemie Milan Joggers
These cute little jogging pants are made using a simple dc and sc stitch. They are quick and easy to work up. Then leg cuffs and waistband are made with a fpdc and bpdc.
Yarn
Stylecraft Special DK, light weight #3 yarn (100% Acrylic ; 322 yds / 295 m per 3.5 oz / 100 g skein)
1 (1, 2, 2, 2, 3) skeins

Gauge
9 dc and 4 rows = 2”/5 cm
Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain gauge.

sc=single crochet (double crochet in UK)
dc=double crochet (treble crochet UK)
ch=chain
slst=slip stitch
Special Stitches
fphdc (front post half double crochet) = yo and insert hook into the front post of the hdc below and hdc as usual
bphdc (back post half double crochet) = yo and insert hook into the back post of the hdc below and hdc as usual
Notes
Similar weight yarns may be substituted; please check the gauge.
Beginning ch1 and 2 does NOT count as stitch.
Instructions:
Using a 4mm hook
Ch 60 slst to first to form a circle.
Round 1: Ch1, hdc in same and next 59, slst to first. (60)
Rounds 2-4: ch1, fphdc in base of ch1, *bphdc, fphdc* repeat to end, slst to first. (60) Turn after round 4
Round 5: Ch2, dc in same, sc, *dc, sc* repeat across, slst to first. (60) Turn
Round 6: Ch1, sc in same, dc, *sc, dc* repeat across, slst to first. (60) Turn
Repeat rounds 5-6 until work measures 4.5 inches. Ending with a round 5.
Divide for the legs
First Leg
Round 1: Ch1, sc in same, dc, *sc, dc* repeat until 28 stitches are worked, slst to first, leaving the rest unworked. (28) Turn
Round 2: Ch2, dc in same, sc, *dc, sc* repeat across, slst to first. (28) Turn
Repeat rounds 1 and 2 until the inside leg measures 4 inches.
Cuffs
With a 3mm hook
Round 1: Ch1, hdc in same, hdc to end, slst to first. (28)
Rounds 2-4: ch1, fphdc in base of ch1, *bphdc, fphdc* repeat to end, slst to first. (28) Turn
Second Leg
With a 4mm hook
With the front of the joggers facing, skip 2 stitches, join yarn in the next stitch, ch1, then repeat from round 1 of the first leg. (there will be 4 stitches unworked, that will leave a small gap)
Fasten off and sew up the gap between the legs.
Tie
Ch 135 with a 4mm hook, fasten off and slot through the centre round of the waist band.
