Preemie Rainbow Bobble Romper
Free Crochet Pattern
This cute romper is made using a simple single crochet and a bobble stitch for the front bib and looks super cute with a little rainbow applique.

Materials
230 metres of dk / weight 3 yarn (I used Drops Cotton Light 50 % Cotton 50 % Polyester 105 Metres per 50 grams)
4.5 mm hook
3mm hook and small amounts of rainbow weight 3 yarn
2 x 15mm buttons
Written in English US terms with abbreviations for UK
sc = single crochet (double crochet in UK)
hdc = half double crochet (half treble crochet UK)
dc = double crochet (treble crochet UK)
dec = decrease (crochet two stitches together)
ch = chain
inc = increase
slst = slip stitch
blo = back loop (crochet into the back loop of the stitch)
bs = Bobble stitch- (yarn over, insert hook into next stitch, pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through 2 stitches), four times, you should have 5 stitches on hook, yarn over and pull through all 5.
Gauge
With 4.5mm hook
Row 1: Ch9, sc in 2nd ch from hook and each chain across. (8) Turn
Rows 2-8: ch1, sc in the same, sc 7. (8) Turn
Gauge should measure 2” x 2”
Pattern notes
Each stage has measurements so if you fall short you can continue working in multiples of two until you reach the correct measurement.
Measure the crotch halfway through (it should measure half of the given measurement)
With the front crotch nearest you the joining seam should be on the left, this will be the front.
Small Rainbow
Chain 10 with blue
Row 1: 2 sc in the second chain from hook, sc 3, 2 sc in the next, sc 3, 2 sc in the last. (12)
Change to green
Row 2: ch1, sc in the same, sc 2, 2 sc in the next, sc 4, 2 sc in the next, sc 3. (14)
Change to yellow
Row 3: ch1, 2 sc in the same, sc 3, 2 sc in the next, sc 1, 2 sc in the next twice, sc 1, 2 sc in the next, sc 3, 2 sc in last. (20)
Change to red
Row 4: ch1, sc in the same, sc all. (20) Fasten off.
Cloud
Make two working in a spiral
Row 1: 8 sc in a magic circle. (8)

Row 2: ch1, sc in the same, sc all. (20) Turn
Row 3: ch1, sc in the same, sc 1, bs, sc 14, bs, sc 2. (20) Turn
Row 4: ch1, sc in the same, sc all. (20) Turn
Row 5: ch1, sc in the same, sc 1, bs, sc 14, bs, sc 2. (20) Turn
Row 6: ch1, sc in the same, sc all. (20) Turn

Straps
Row 1: ch1, sc in same, sc 4, leaving the rest unworked. (5) Turn
Row 2-20: ch1, sc in same, sc 4. (5) Turn
Fasten off, skip 10 stitches from the first strap and repeat rows 1-20 to make the second strap.
Leg openings
Row 1: ch1, sc around the leg, slst to first.
Row 2: ch5, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each ch back to edge, join to the next st of the edge using a slst then work one more slst into the next st (2 slsts in total for joining) (4) Turn
Row 3: ch1, sc all in blo. (4) Turn
Row 4: (in blo) ch1, sc all back to edge, join to the next st of the edge using a slst then work one more slst into the next st (2 slsts in total for joining) (4) Turn
Repeat Rows 3-4 until you get to the other side.
Fasten off, and sew the seam.
Sew the rainbow or any of the other appliques here on the front bib.
