Winter Luxe Joggers

These cute joggers are made top down using a single crochet waistcoat stitch, the pattern is written with each size separately to make it simple to follow.

SKILL LEVEL 

Intermediate


MATERIALS

Cicibebe Baltik DK, weight #3 yarn (100% Acrylic 360 metres per 100g)

3.5 & 5mm crochet hooks 

Yarn needle


WRITTEN IN ENGLISH US TERMS WITH ABBREVIATIONS FOR UK 

sc = single crochet (double crochet UK)

ch = chain

blo = back loop only (crochet in the back loop of the stitch)

slst = slip stitch

** = repeat between

[ ] = in the same stitch



GAUGE 

With a 5mm hook

16 sc x 20 Rows = 4” / 10cm

Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain the gauge.


GAUGE for waistband

With a 3.5mm hook

16 sc x 20 Rows = 4” / 10cm

Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain the gauge.

PATTERN NOTES


  • The joggers are started with the waistband, check out the size you want to make and make either the single or double waistband below with the amount of rows for your size, (see size chart).


  • After the waistband the joggers are made in a spiral so there is no joining of rounds, which gives a neater finish.

SINGLE WAISTBAND

Using a 3.5mm hook

ch6

Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc 4. (5) Turn

Row 2: (in blo) ch1, sc all. (5) Turn

Repeat row 2 until you have worked the required rows for your size. Slst the first and last row together in the back loops and continue to your size.

DOUBLED WAISTBAND

Using a 3.5mm hook

ch15

Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc 13. (14) Turn

Row 2: (in blo) ch1, sc all. (14) Turn

Repeat row 2 until you have worked the required rows for your size. Slst the first and last row together in the back loops. Then fold in half and continue to your size, on the first row you will work through both sides.

WAIST TO CROTCH

Make required rows of waistband (see size chart).

Change to a 5mm hook (it may be easier using a smaller hook for the first round, but crochet loosely)

Round 1: ch1, *sc 3 / 4 / 6, [2 sc] in the next* x 8, sc 4 / 6 / 0. (44, 54, 64) 

Round 2: sc all. (44 / 54 / 64) 

Repeat round 2 until work measures 3.5, (4.5, 6) inches.

DIVIDE FOR THE LEGS


First Leg

Round 1: sc 20 / 25 / 30 stitches, leaving the rest unworked. (20 / 25 / 30) Turn

Round 2: sc all. (20 / 25 / 30)

Repeat round 2 until the inside leg measures 2.5 / 3.5 / 5 inches. 

CUFFS

Change to a 3.5mm hook

Row 1: ch6, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each ch back to edge, join to the next stitch of the edge using a slst then work one more slst into the next stitch (2 slsts in total for joining) (5) Turn

Row 2: ch1, sc all in blo. (5) Turn

Row 3: (in blo) ch1, sc all back to edge, join to the next stitch of the edge using a slst then work one more slst into the next stitch (2 slsts in total for joining) (5) Turn

Repeat row 3 until you have worked all the way round, then sew the seam.

Finished inside leg should be 3.5 / 4.5 / 6 inches.

SECOND LEG


Skip 2 stitches and repeat from round 1 for the second leg. Sew the gap between the legs.

Waist tie


Ch 126 / 136 / 146 with a 4mm hook, fasten off and weave through the stitches of the first round after the waist band.
