Puff Stitch Cardigan 0-3 Months Free Crochet Pattern

This puff stitch cardigan is with a simple single crochet (double crochet UK) yoke with a puff stitch body and is crochet all in one with only the ends to sew in.
Materials
160g paintbox yarns dk LoveCrafts paper white and duck egg blue or candy floss pink
4 and 4.5 mm hooks I use this set from Amazon*
5 x 15 mm buttons
Written in English US terms with abbreviations for UK terms
sc=single crochet (which is double crochet in UK terms)
ch=chain
inc=increase
dec=decrease
ws=wrong side
rs=right side
rpt=repeat
slst=slip stitch
sk=skip
st=stitch
Ps-puff stitch yarn over pull up a loop four times yarn over pull through all 9 stitches on hook and ch1 to finish the stitch.
Gauge Square
With 4mm hook
Row1 Ch10, sc in 2nd ch from hook and each chain across. (9) Turn
Row2-8 ch1, sc in base of ch1, sc 8. (9) Turn
Square should measure 2 inches x 2 inches
If you're out with a 4mm hook try 4.5mm hook.
Size 0-3 Months
Size to fit: 16 Inch chest
Length from shoulder approx 9.5 Inches
Sleeve length under arm measures approx 5 Inches from shoulder 9 inches

Fasten off
Change to 4.5mm hook
Row18 join new colour, ch1, ps in base of ch1, *sk1, ps* to end. Fasten off if changing colour.
Row19 join in new colour, ch1, sc in base of ch1, ps in next, and in between each ps from previous round to end, sc on top of ps from previous row. Fasten off if changing colour.
Row20 join in new colour, ch1, ps in base of ch1 and in between each ps from the previous row, ending with a ps in sc from the previous row. Fasten off if changing colour.
Repeat Row 19 and 20 until work measures approx 9 Inches from shoulder.
Fasten off and sew in all ends.
Sleeves
With 4mm hook
Row1 With RS facing rejoin to first un-worked sc under arm, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each of next 25 sc, slst to first sc on beginning of row. (26sc) Turn
Row2-7 ch1, sc all, slst to first. (26) Turn
Row8 ch1, dec, sc all, slst to first. (25) Turn
Row9 ch1, sc to end, slst to first. (25) Turn
Row10 ch1, dec, sc all, slst to first. (24) Turn
Row11-14 ch1, sc in all, slst to first. (24) Turn
Row15 ch1, dec, sc all, slst to first. (23) Turn
Row16 ch1, sc all, slst to first. (23) Turn
Row17 ch1, dec, sc all, slst to first. (22) Turn
Row18 ch1, sc in all, slst to first. (22) Turn
Row19 ch1, dec, sc all, slst to first. (21) Turn

Repeat row 20 until the sleeve measures 9 inches from the shoulder.
Fasten off and repeat for the other sleeve.
Edging
With 4mm hook
Bottom edging
Row1 Join the main colour to bottom right side with rs facing, ch1 and sc on top of each puff stitch and in each ch1 across. Turn
Row2 ch1, sc in base of ch1, sc across. Turn
Row3 ch1, sc in base of ch1, sc across. Continue to the button band
Button band
Row1 ch1, 1 sc in the base of ch1, sc evenly to the top. Turn
Row2 ch1, sc in the base of ch1 and each st across. Turn
Row3 ch1, sc in the base of ch1 and each st across.
Fasten off.
Buttonhole band
Row1 With RS facing, join the main colour to the top of the other side, ch1, 1 sc in the base of ch1, sc evenly to the bottom. Turn.
Mark out where you want the button holes with stitch markers or scrap yarn.
Row2 ch1, sc in base of ch1, sc across but ch1 and skip where the markers are to create a button hole. Turn
Row3ch1, sc in the base of ch1 and sc in all including chains.
Fasten off and sew your buttons on to match the button holes and weave in all ends.
