Teddy Amigurumi
These Teddy’s are crocheted all in one piece, the legs and arms are crocheted on then continued to the neck then head. The only pieces to sew on are the muzzle and ears.
Written in English US terms with abbreviations for UK
sc=single crochet (double crochet in UK)
hdc=half double crochet (half treble crochet UK)
dc=double crochet (treble crochet UK Terms)

dec=invisible decrease (sc 2 stitches together using invisible decrease) (double crochet 2 stitches together UK)
inc=increase (2 sc in next stitch) (2 dc in next stitch UK)
Blo=back loops only
Flo=front loops only
mc=magic circle
Materials
Around 50g of skin colour dk yarn
30g of contrasting colours
2.5mm hook I use this set from Amazon*
A 1.5mm hook and small amount of black and white embroidery thread or 4 ply yarn for eyes or you can use 10mm safety eyes
Polyester toy filling
Needle
All parts are made going around in a spiral apart from feet, boots and clothing.
Teddy will measure approx 11 inches tall (8.5 inches when sitting), however size will depend on yarn and hook size used.
Invisible decrease
Insert hook into the front loop of the next stitch then the front loop of the stitch after, yarn over and pull through the two stitches, (two loops left on hook) yarn over and pull through both.
Arms
Make two starting with skin colour.
Stuff as you go.
Round 1: 6 sc in mc. (6)
Round 2: *inc* x 6. (12)
Round 3: *sc 1, inc* x 6. (18)
Round 4-5: sc all. (18)
Start stuffing and continue throughout.
Change colour.
Round 6: *sc 1, dec* x 6. (12)
Round 7-21: sc all. (12)
Fasten off.
Neck support
Make using skin colour.
Stuff as you go.
Round 1: 6 sc in mc. (6)
Round 2: *inc* x 6. (12)
Round 3: *sc 1, inc* x 6. (18)
Round 4-17: sc all. (18)
Stuff firmly and fold the top in half and sc across 9 stitches, fasten off leaving a long end to sew inside the neck.
Muzzle
Round 1: 6 sc in mc. (6)
Round 2: *inc* x 6. (12)
Round 3: *1 sc, inc* x 6. (18)
Round 4: *2 sc, inc* x 6. (24)
Round 5-6: sc all. (24)
Fasten off leaving a tail for sewing and sew a nose and mouth with darker yarn.
Ears
Make two in skin colour.
Round 1: 6 sc in mc. (6)

Round 4-5: sc all. (18)
Round 6: *sc4, dec* three times. (15)
Fasten off leaving a tail for sewing.
Eyes
Using 1.5 hook and embroidery thread or 4ply yarn.
Round 1: using black ch2, 6 sc in second ch from hook, slst to first.
Sew a white line at the top left side of each eye, sew in ends leaving a long black one for sewing onto the teddy later.
Legs
Make two using skin colour.
Round 1: ch8, 3 hdc in third chain from hook, 1 hdc in the next four, 6 hdc in last chain then working along other side, 1 hdc in each of the next four, 3 hdc in the last, slst to first (20)
Round 2: ch1, 1 hdc in the same stitch as ch1, 2 hdc in next two, 1 hdc in next five, 2 hdc in each of the next six, 1 hdc in next five, 2 hdc in each of the next two, slst to first. (31)
Round 3: ch1, sc in same and next 30 all in back loop only, slst to first. (31)
Round 4-6: ch1, sc in same and next 30, slst to first. (31)
Round 7: ch1, sc in same and next 8, *dec* 6 times, sc 10 slst to first. (25)
Round 8: ch1, sc in same and next 5, *dec* 7 times, sc 5. (18)
Start stuffing and continue throughout.
Now working in continuous rounds

Attaching arms
Fold arms in half
Round 28: sc 4, sc 6 through the arm and body, sc 4, sc 6 through the arm and body, sc 4. (24)
Change to body colour.

Keep stuffing as you go, continue with the head.
Head
Round 1: *inc* x 18 (36)

Round 7-16: sc all. (54) Place markers for eyes between rnd 12 and 13.
When the body is stuffed, place the neck support half way down the neck and sew a few stitches to keep it in place.
Place the muzzle and sew in place adding a bit of stuffing behind it. Sew the eyes or fasten the safety eyes between rnd 12 and 13 with 6 stitches between the eyes. Stuff and continue throughout.

Pin the ears in place and sew them at the back then the front.
Skirt
Join yarn in front loops of rnd 14
Round 1: ch1 and sc around slst to first. (48)
Round 2: ch3, 2 dc in base of ch3, 3 dc in each stitch, slst to first. (144)
Round 3: ch3, 1 dc in each, slst to first. (144)
Fasten off, or if you want it a bit longer add another round of dc and a last round of *ch1, sc* in each to give a nice edge.
Flower
Round 1: 6 sc in mc, slst to first.
Round 2: *ch3, sc in second ch from hook, sc in next and slst to bottom ch, slst to next* repeat 5 times.
Fasten off and sew onto the teddy.
Neck bow
Tie
Ch23, sc in second ch from hook and each ch across.
Fasten off leaving a long end for sewing.
Bow
Ch5, 3 tc, ch5, slst to first, turn, ch5, 3 tc, ch5, slst to first.
Fasten off wrap yarn around the middle and sew in the center of tie, then sew around Teddy's neck.
