4mm hook

Pompom maker

Gauge Square

With 4mm hook

Row1 Ch10, hdc in 3rd ch from hook and each chain across. (8) Turn

Row2-4 ch1, hdc in base of ch1, hdc 7. (8) Turn

Square should measure just over 4.5cm.

If you're out with a 4mm hook try 4.5mm hook.

If you have problems hitting the length but the width is ok, try dc instead of hdc.

Rnd1 ch4, slst to first to form a circle, ch2, hdc 9 into circle, slst to top of ch2. (10)

Rnd2 ch2, hdc in same, 2 hdc in all, slst to first. (20)

Rnd3 ch2, hdc in same, *hdc 1, inc* repeat to end, slst to first. (30)

Rnd4 ch2, hdc in same, *hdc 2, inc* repeat seven more times, hdc to end, slst to first. (39)

Rnd5 ch1, fpdc in base of ch1, dc in next 2, *fpdc, dc in next 2* repeat to end, dc in last, slst to top of fpdc to join. (39) Turn

Rnd6 ch1, dc in base of ch1, fpdc next 2, *dc, fpdc in next 2* repeat to end, slst to join. (39) Turn

Repeat round 5 and 6 until work measures 3 inches.

Last rnd ch1, hdc in same, hdc to end, slst to first. 

Fasten off.
